So - this week I was promised a feature in an Irish magazine if I could just write an original short story (as you do) asap. If you're in Ireland, look out for Woman's Way, issue 41 or 42 in October. It concerns marshmallows. I don't usually write about marshmallows.....

I am indeed out here. Do you need me to supply marshmallows for your story research? What kind do you need? Are you planning to toast them over a barbecue, or are you going to be playing "chubby bunny" and seeing how many you can stuff in your mouth at one time? You could turn that one into a cracking horror story. Woman's Way would go wild for it. Shall I bring you a big fluffy package when I return from California?

The marshmallows are symbolic (fewer calories that way, among other things). Jude tells Bill (when she is preparing for her school's 30th reunion, as I am) that there was a girl who knew everything (a la Monica Moran) and for a bag of MM she'd tell you. He asks what she'd do for two. She''s worried that she's done nothing with her life. Fleeting darkness on Bill's face - has she missed something? At the end of the story she finds herself on a train with a present from him on her lap. She doesn't have to open it;she knows what it contains - MM two bags. AAAAAAAAAH, isn't that lovely. Woman's Way readers won't be into horror, I think. Now about the chubby bunny suggestion........
